On Saturday, January 26, CalArts will host a day-long series of presentations by and conversations with local, U.S., and international scholars, artists, activists, and curators from 10 am to 9:30 pm in the City Council Chambers. The event will include a mix of panels, keynotes, short films, and Q&A’s with the audience. N. Katherine Hayles will give the day’s closing presentation. Hayles is the author of the seminal How We Became Posthuman, which is hailed as “the key text which brought posthumanism to broad international attention.” She has been an influential voice in arts and media discourse for decades and is serving as the Theorist in Residence at CalArts in Spring 2019.
