The panel discussion will focus on LGBTQ+ and ally teens, the constituency served by JQ’s Teen JQSA (Jewish Queer Straight Alliance). Since 2014, the Teen JQSA has provided a vital, safe, and affirming social environment for LGBTQ+ teens and allies seeking community, support, and/or share a common interest in advocating for LGBTQ+ inclusion.
Timed to coincide with the start of the school year, LGBTQ+ and ally teens from diverse backgrounds will participate in an open discussion about LGBTQ+ teens and their unique challenges as they navigate these transformative years. This second annual community-wide event will offer community members, parents, educators, and others the opportunity to learn firsthand about the issues facing this at-risk population and how to better serve them.
