The City of West Hollywood’s “Get on the Bus” creative arts/education initiative will provide a multi-stop bus tour on Thursday, April 21, 2011. West Hollywood area high school students who have demonstrated an interest in the arts as a profession will travel to local businesses and will be engaged in a hands-on, multi-stop bus tour of careers and interest with successful arts professionals in the fields of architecture, art, fashion, custom furnishings and interior design.
“This important program focuses a new generation on possibilities and opportunities for their future through a hands-on educational collaboration with the City and its creative business community,” said West Hollywood Mayor John Heilman.
Community partners in support of “Get on the Bus” include the Academy of Couture Art; American Society of Interior Designers; Dallatorre; Here is Elsewhere Gallery; Hamilton Selway Fine Art; Pacific Design Center; Phyllis Morris; and Ryan Farber, Avenues of Art Fashion and Design.
West Hollywood, also known as the Creative City, is home to a multitude of creative arts and entertainment career opportunities from design and architecture to film and television.
