"Bunker Opens Doors" - An Exhibition About Free Expression, Creativity, and Liberty

Sergey Djavadian’s collection of artwork by the original members of the Bunker Art Group will be on display for the first time in the United States.  The Bunker Art Group is a team of dissident artists from the former Soviet Union.  Its current members participated in the Bunker's shows from 1994-2017.

The first part of the show will be curated by Peter Frank, a renowned critic and curator living in Los Angeles. Peter Frank is currently an Associate Editor of Fabrik Magazine. He has written for many publications and organized exhibitions around the world in his over 45-year career.

The second part of the show will be juried and curated by Peter Frank and Barry Gordon (a gallery owner of the previously well-known Gordon Gallery in Santa Monica). It will display new artwork from the Bunker Art group, as well as artwork from the winners of the Lark Gallery competition "Bunker Opens Doors."

The artist reception will be held in Great Hall on Sunday, April 8th from 2-5 PM.  The exhibition is on view from April 8 through May 25, 2018.
