Composer Sergei Rachmaninoff was the last great figure of the tradition of Russian Romanticism and a leading piano virtuoso of his time. He is especially known for his piano concerts and the piece for piano and orchestra titled “Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini” (1934). This Gala Concert marks the 145th anniversary of Sergei Rachmaninoff. The program includes art songs, preludes and Trio Elegiaque № 1. The Gala Concert is hosted by Nonna Ter-Avanesova and features the following performers: Dmitry Rachmanov (piano), Bernard Bayer (piano), Mariana Povzlatieva (soprano), Oliver Chan (piano) Siuzanna Iglidan (mezzo-soprano), Irina Voloshina (violin), Armen Ksajikian (cello).
