WeHo Reads: 6th Anniversary of the Library Celebration and Heidi Duckler Dance Performance

The City of West Hollywood's WeHo Arts program, the West Hollywood Library, the Friends of the West Hollywood Library, and Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre celebrate the 6th anniversary of the opening of the West Hollywood Library with a free dress-performance of "Back in Circulation" on Friday, October 6th, 2017 at 7:00pm.

There will be light refreshments provided by the Friends of the West Hollywood Library. Admission is free but RSVPs are required at http://bit.ly/WeHoReads6thAnniv

Built by the City of West Hollywood and opened 6 years ago in October 2011, the West Hollywood Library is among the most impressive pieces of public architecture in Southern California. The library includes long expanses of floor-to-ceiling glass windows that look over the major West Hollywood thoroughfare, San Vicente Boulevard, and across to the iconic Pacific Design Center. Heidi Duckler’s choreography will focus on the vast windows of the library as symbolic thresholds for sharing information, as well as containers of public space.  Among the most critical topics of discussion in America over the last several years has been our access to information: its availability, accuracy, creation, destruction, and veracity.  No single site or landmark in American culture is more synonymous with “information” than the public library.  In "Back in Circulation," Duckler activates the West Hollywood site to explore contemporary questions of knowledge and understanding through movement.

This performance is made possible with funding from the City of West Hollywood's WeHo Arts program. More info at www.weho.org/wehoreads.
