In celebration of Outfest's Screenwriting Lab's 20th
Anniversary and in conjunction with the City of West Hollywood's special
thematic programming called WeHo Artes, which celebrates Pacific Standard Time:
LA/LA (Latin American and Latino Art in Los Angeles), Outfest is excited to
present the award-winning and critically-acclaimed film - Contracorriente
(Undertow).
Miguel's (Cristian Mercado) passionate and steamy affair with local painter
Santiago sates his sexual desires, but he is torn between his duty to his wife
and his love for Santiago. After a tragic accident, Miguel must come to terms
with his contradictory feelings, building a bold declaration of love that will
set free Santiago and himself, and transform the village. Writer-director
Javier Fuentes-León will be in attendance for a Q&A after the film.
There is no ticket charge for this
screening. Instead, Outfest requests that you consider donating towards the
Outfest Screenwriting Lab so that it can continue to foster new voices and
develop stories that spotlight all the diverse facets of the LGBTQ community. https://outfest.secure.force.com/ticket
