The six members of West Hollywood Dance Festival guest company Hexagon Dance Collective create unique and innovative dance pieces that emphasize collaboration in the creative process. This workshop will introduce participants to some of the methods they use for generating movement and choreography and provide a space to compose dances in a collaborative environment. The material for the workshop will be taken from specific gestures the company used to compose their piece “Proxemics” performing in the WHDF performance series. Participants will combine these basic gestures in authentic ways to create their own movement phrases and will also have the opportunity to set their dances to the actual music used in the piece. No dance experience is necessary, and all are welcome. For more information, visit www.multiplexdance.org/whdf-community-workshops. Sponsored by the City of West Hollywood's WeHo Arts program.
