Join the City of West Hollywood in beautifying West Hollywood Elementary School for the 2017 West Hollywood MLK Jr. Day of Service on January 14, 2017 from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm! The City of West Hollywood, along with hundreds of communities across the country, will commemorate the anniversary of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day federal holiday with a day of service. Volunteers are needed to help perform various landscaping, clean-up, painting, and other beautifying tasks at West Hollywood Elementary School. All tasks include physical labor and volunteers will work for a 6-hour shift. Volunteers must be at least 12 years old to participate and they will receive a commemorative t-shirt and lunch. Community partners include Friends of West Hollywood Elementary (FOWHE) & Anawalt Lumber. Space is limited and advanced registration is REQUIRED! No walk-ins!

As part of the City of West Hollywood’s 2017 MLK Jr. Day of Service, local volunteers will be collecting non-perishable food items that will benefit the SOVA Food and Community Resource Program. Donations of new and used clothing and shoes will benefit the Los Angeles LGBT Center’s Youth Center on Highland. Just stop by curbside at West Hollywood Elementary School, located at 970 N. Hammond St., West Hollywood, CA 90069 between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm and drop off your items in the donation area!
