Celebration Theatre in partnership with the city of West Hollywood through WeHo Arts, presents bi-monthly staged readings of new LGBTQ works in the City Council Chambers.

In Ryan Fogerty's Beating Off, Midge, unable to find her next film and dabbling in plastic surgery, makes a trip to New York City to visit her friend and former co-star, Rafa. Midge comes to find she is not the only one who is struggling to make it back into the spotlight as a near middle-aged actor. Now facing the end of their reign as the King and Queen of Hollywood, Rafa concocts a grand plan that might relaunch their careers. But, are they willing to sacrifice everything to do it? Fogarty is a recipient of the Robert Chesley Award for Drama and was most recently a Wurlitzer playwriting fellow.
