Route 66, 90th Anniversary Celebration

Route 66 was officially commissioned 90 years ago, on November 11, 1926. For many decades, Route 66 was one of the busiest and most important highways in America. The highway has been the subject of folklore, books, songs, and legends, and one of the greatest symbols of Americana. It continues to be celebrated for its significant role in our country’s history as well as the role it played in developing many regional and local economies.

Within the City of West Hollywood, Route 66 follows Santa Monica Boulevard. The City of West Hollywood is proud of its history as part of Route 66. Join us for an afternoon celebration to commemorate 90 years of Route 66 — there will be live music, classic food, and soda pop!
