The purpose of the meeting will be for Council to consider adopting resolutions related to placing an initiative on the ballot for the March 8, 2011 election regarding a tax on off-site advertising and allowing tall wall advertising to be placed on buildings on Santa Monica and Beverly Blvds.

The special meeting must be held in order to comply with California Elections Code, which requires that initiatives placed on the ballot shall be held not less that 88 days after the Council orders the initiative to be placed on the ballot. December 10, 2010 is 88 days prior to the election of March 8, 2011
