The West Hollywood Library will host a panel discussion USA + Pakistan: Images of Women in Media and in Reality. The panel will feature university students who are participating in a State Department program called Consciousness Raising of Pakistani Women on Contemporary Academic and Social Issues and are vising to share elements of Pakistani Society and Culture with Women groups and organizations in the USA with a vision to dismantle the misconceptions and stereotypes on both sides and work for inter-cultural dialogue and harmony. These students are members of Critical Thinking Forum, International Islamic University, Islamabad. Critical Thinking Forum (CTF) is a group of predominantly young Pakistani women scholars of varied ethnic backgrounds and it serves as a platform for research and critical debates on multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary topics to create awareness and promote a culture of dialogue, pluralism and peaceful mutual co-existence. The discussion will be led by Jennifer Hal Lee, filmmaker, writer, CTF Visit Coordinator and Global Ambassador for the Global Media Monitoring Project.
