The Alliance of Los Angeles Playwrights (ALAP) presents two days of rehearsed readings of LGBTQ-themed plays which are selected through an open call, juried process.
Saturday's program will feature 7 short plays, while Sunday will feature a single full-length play. Admission is free and no RSVP is required.

To Bury a Stranger by Judith Allen and Ann L. Gibbs
A lesbian couple is enlisted to plan the funeral of their reclusive neighbor. While uncovering the details of her life, the couple learns the high price of living in the closet.
The Lesbian in the Tool Shed by Dan Berkowitz
A mysterious woman from Eddie's past returns to take up residence in his tool shed once again...
Grandpa and the Gay Rabbi by Jonathan Josephson
After a hate crime shocks their community, newly instated Rabbi Gold will try to help Grandpa widen his world view. This ain't gonna be easy.
Lunch with "Friends" by Rhea MacCallum
When old "friends" meet for lunch a guest with unexpected news joins them.
SASM by Thomas J. Misuraca
Lenny and Kevin are having dinner with friends Oscar and David for the first time. When Oscar can't tag Lenny in a Facebook photo, the couple suspects that Lenny is a SASM: Straight Acting on Social Media. The couples debate what it means to be out and what they each do to bring social awareness to gay issues.
The Cellophane Closet by Felix Racelis
Gay housemates prepare to march in the 1978 Gay Freedom Day Parade. One of the roommates picked someone up the night before and coaxes him to join them. Apparently not every gay denizen of San Francisco is completely out of the closet.
Library by Benjamin Scuglia
In the library of an LGBT Community Center, the past and future come to an understanding.
