In response to record attendance at this year’s Russian Arts and Culture Festival several weeks ago, the City of West Hollywood is reaching out to request feedback from community members.
The City of West Hollywood has launched a five-minute online survey aimed at people who attended the 2017 Russian Arts and Culture Festival. Responses to the survey will help the City and its Russian Advisory Board to plan future events for Russian Arts and Culture Month. The survey is available online by visiting www.surveymonkey.com/r/RussianFest. The survey will be available throughout July.
Russian Arts and Culture Month is an integral part of the City of West Hollywood and its Russian-speaking community. The cultural and creative identity of the Russian-speaking community is embodied in the event’s presentation of visual arts, history, and language.
The City of West Hollywood is home to a large community of people from regions of the former Soviet Union. According to a 2013 survey of the community in West Hollywood, there are 3,872 people who live in the City who identify a former region of the Soviet Union as their primary ancestry. This represents approximately 11 percent of the City’s total population of 34,399 people.
