Event sponsored by the City of West Hollywood through its Arts & Cultural Affairs Commission. A native of Los Angeles, Sammy Miller has become known for his unique maturity and relentless focus on making music that “feels good” as a drummer, singer and bandleader. At the ripe old age of 20, Sammy has performed with Wynton Marsalis, Bobby Watson, David Benoit, Christian Scott, and Ozomatli at venues across the country, including the White House, the Kennedy Center, the Monterey Jazz Festival, and the Hollywood Bowl. In the Jazz World, Sam has been recognized with a number of honors, including the Los Angeles Jazz Society’s Shelly Manne Award, the Dolo Coker Scholarship and the 2009 Los Angeles Music Center’s Spotlight Award. A graduate of the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, Sammy is currently getting his Masters’ Degree at The Juilliard School. Admission is free.
