Voices of L.A. “Songs of Experience” by the Hollywood Master Chorale

William Blake was arguably one of the world’s first straight allies. Though he himself was not gay, his poetry and art argued for freedom in love, and strongly influenced many artists and activists over the years. Similarly, the composers of new works based on William Blake’s poetry for Voices of LA are not gay, but supportive. One composer describes his piece as “A love song, looking towards the future with optimism. It is too true even today that, for some, ‘Love! sweet Love! [is] thought a crime’.” Partially funded by the City of West Hollywood through a grant from its Arts and Cultural Affairs Commission. Tickets $20 general admission, $15 students/seniors. Validated parking available in the 5-story West Hollywood Park Library Parking Garage. For tickets and more information, please call (323) 960-4349 or visit www.brownpapertickets.com/event/369622  or www.hollywoodmasterchorale.org
