Palm Springs & Air Museum

You'll enjoy a leisurely morning drive out to the desert to the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. Here you'll get the "best show on cable" as you board a Swiss-made rotating cable car. You'll be lifted from the desert floor to the 8,500 foot elevation of Mt. San Jacinto in a spectacular 10-minute ride. Palm trees and the sandy desert give way to soaring mountains and pine-scented air. Your spirit of adventure will be rewarded with one of the most spectacular views of the Coachella Valley, from Joshua Tree National Park to the Salton Sea! You'll disembark at the Mountain Station where you will be treated to lunch at the Pines Café overlooking the valley below. Mountain Station also has a gift shop to browse through, a cocktail lounge, observation areas, and a 22-minute film on the history of the Tramway. You'll have some time to linger and take photos before climbing back aboard the tram for your descent. Back on the desert floor, your motor coach and driver will be waiting to take you to one of the desert's newer attraction - the Palm Springs Air Museum. This modern, air-conditioned museum is a living tribute to America's Veterans and the planes they flew. On your guided tour, you'll see one of the world's largest collections of flying WWII airplanes, including a B17, as well as a variety of other vintage aircraft, aviation art, a Pearl Harbor diorama and more. Cost $60 per person. To register online please visit www.weho.org/recreation  or register in person at the Plummer Park office or the West Hollywood Park office.
