Why Trans Can Work: Helping Gender Diverse People Thrive in the Workplace and Employers Prepare for Tomorrow’s Workforce

Date: Thursday, November 12 at 5:00 PM

Zoom Webinar: https://zoom.us/j/91959559565

Description:

Transphobia continues to be a real issue in the twenty-first century, and now more than ever, employers in need of qualified human resources must broaden their horizons and reach out to a more diverse pool of qualified professionals. Understanding what gender diverse individuals have to offer is a necessary step in creating successful and inclusive work teams, in which all feel welcomed. Realizing the gaps in the current workforce, and the need for increased awareness and sensitivity training of employers and employees, the City of West Hollywood and Trans Can Work have joined forces to spearhead a campaign focused on employers who are willing to continue leading the way in creating safe, respectful and inclusive professional environments. The campaign is centered around the development of a toolkit that provides helpful insights on how to properly address gender diverse individuals, the correct use of pronouns, etc. As the toolkit is ready for primetime, what a better way to introduce this exemplary piece of work than having a virtual roundtable discussion with key community stakeholders, policymakers, and business leaders? Thus, mark your calendars for an in-depth discussion on gender diverse individuals in the workplace.
