Average savings in the program are 20% off the retail price and 50% on mail service prescriptions. There is no fee for the card, no age or income requirements and no limit on how many times the card can be used. 90% of pharmacies nationwide are participating in the program.
Cards are available at West Hollywood City Hall and other locations throughout the City. For more information contact Corey Roskin at email@example.com or (323) 848-6403 or visit www.caremark.com/nlc
Most pharmaceutical companies have established programs to help people who do not have health insurance with drug coverage through PAPS (“Prescription Assistance Programs” or “Patient Assistance Programs”). Some of the ways to find out about PAPS are through doctors, pharmacists, staff at health/community clinics, the internet and drug companies.
Almost all of the corporate web sites of the major pharmaceutical companies provide links to their PAP programs, with a list of drugs that are available for free or reduced cost for those who qualify. In addition, Consumer Reports has an excellent guide to Prescription Drug Assistance programs on their website at www.CRBestBuyDrugs.org. If you do not have computer access, contact Corey Roskin at (323) 848-6403 to obtain a copy of the guide.
