The City of West Hollywood through its Arts and Cultural Affairs Commission presented its 2011 Summer Sounds throughout the summer of 2011 at Kings Road Park and Plummer Park, featuring a line-up of performances is an eclectic mix of contemporary, jazz and world music.  Clcik here for some photos from the concerts.

June 26 - EsperantoMusic Sample
Esperanto is an international band of award-winning musicians who perform an intoxicating mix of jazz, pop and world rhythms in five languages. Their uniqueness lies in how they integrate the music and language of many different cultures into a single performance. Members of the band hail from Columbia, Venezuela, Sri Lanka and The Philippines, as well as from different corners of America.

quarteronuevo July 10 - Beautiful People Music Sample
Catte Adams and Beautiful People are an L.A. Electronica band that takes pop, jazz, and originals and de-constructs them turning them into groovy and unusual arrangements. They have been known to transform classic hits such as “Heartbreak Hotel” and “You’re My Thrill” into lush and elegant versions you’ve never heard before.
earthaaustria July 24 - Gregg Young & The 2nd Street Band - Music Sample
Gregg Young & The 2nd Street Band is a pool of approximately 40 world-class musicians and vocalists led by Gregg Young, singer and guitarist. The band encompasses a variety of music styles including Rock-N-Roll, Blues, Jazz and Latin grooves.

susiehanson August 7 - Great American Swing Band Music Sample
The Great American Swing Band is a 10 piece band that performs the fabulous sounds of the 1940s, Standards, Swing, Big Band, Jazz, R&B, Dixieland, Dance, and Contemporary music.

August 21 - Klezmer Juice - Music Sample
Klezmer Juice is vibrant Yiddish soul imbued with musical influences both old and new from around the world. Representing a new generation of Jewish soul musicians, the youthful group members see themselves as torchbearers of an ancient traditional craft that unites generations in spirit, offering fresh interpretations of traditional tunes. This concert is sponsored by Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky.
