The City of West Hollywood has made a strong committment to providing accessible arts & cultural programming to its residents and visitors, and its committment to creativity and the arts can be seen in the official motto of West Hollywood: 'The Creative City'. 

The Arts & Cultural Affairs Commission (formerly the Fine Arts Commission) was created on January 5, 1987 and its mission is to promote and nurture the arts and cultural life of the City of West Hollywood.
