If you are planning a move to or from a residential property in West Hollywood you must obtain a “Residential Moving & Large Vehicle” permit if you anticipate using a parking space on the street for loading or unloading. The permit entitles you to reserve a parking space for a vehicle on the street on moving day. A permit is not required for the moving van if it will be parked on private property such as a driveway or parking lot. 

Permits will only be issued for one (1) day between the hours of 8am to 5pm.

Reserved parking for moving vans requires at least 72 hours advance notice in residential zones and must be posted with NO PARKING signs adjacent to the address. 

Permits shall not be issued to place storage containers or pods in the public right-of-way. 

Moving van parking is subject to approval to insure there are no conflicts with traffic or construction work being done at neighboring properties and/or sidewalks and streets. 

Applicants are required to pay a $10 fee for the permit and NO PARKING SIGNS which are issued at the Parking Services counter at City Hall. 

The NO PARKING SIGNS must be posted and verified by parking enforcement at least 72 hours before the moving van arrives, otherwise the permit will be revoked.
